Presentation

HRT does part of the work. Presentation — clothing, hair, skincare, makeup, the visible everyday stuff — is what you choose on top of it. This section is a working reference for the practical decisions involved, framed for /mtfg/ readers rather than aimed at a generic "becoming feminine" audience.

Hair removal lives under Physical Transition → Hair Removal since the body-wide methods (laser, electrolysis) overlap heavily with physical transition planning and SRS prep timelines.

The frame matters: there's no required look. People in the community span every aesthetic from femme to butch to alt to androgynous. The goal of this section is to give you accurate information for decisions you're choosing to make — not to prescribe a presentation.

What's in this section

How this relates to other sections

  • HRT does soft-tissue and texture changes — see Physical Transition for what to expect on hormones alone
  • HRT does not change skeletal structure — for facial bone changes see Surgery → FFS
  • Voice presentation is its own substantial topic — see Voice Training
  • Pre-op hair removal for SRS is significant enough to plan ~1–2 years out — covered both here and on Surgery → SRS
